Our intention is to provide outstanding education for the communities we serve and to increase the life chances of the young people we teach. Although we rightly concentrate on the achievement of our students, we are already finding that working in a collaborative way is presenting tremendous personal and professional development opportunities for our staff.
Our aims are very simple and are based around the following three themes:
Raising student achievement is central to our purpose and drives everything we do. We push our students to achieve the very best they can academically and we also recognise the importance of wider curricular activities with an extensive trips and visits programme and an emphasis on excellence in areas such as Sport, Music and Drama.
We like to put our people first and this begins with our students but also extends to our staff, our parents and our wider community.
We believe that sometimes less is more. We concentrate on getting the basics right and will only do things if we can do them in a way that adds real quality to the experiences of our students.
The Trust is currently made up of Holyrood Academy in Chard and Axe Valley Academy in Axminster. Holyrood has recently been awarded National Support School Status and has gained Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ status on its last two visits. The Trust is ambitious and hopes to encourage more schools from the South Somerset and East Devon area to work within it in the near and long term future.
